The idea first started out with the students from Environmental & Water Technology (EWT)wanting to satisfy the need of the agriculture and food industry in Singapore, namely, in the form of fish farming.  However, they lacked the know-how of programming mobile applications, websites as well as circuits. Hence, they collaborated with students from Electronic & Computing Engineering (ECE).

 

With EWT's knowledge on environmental science, air & water quality monitoring & control as well as microbiology and ECE's skillset, the Water Monitoring Beacon (WMB) was created.
